Follow these basic and simple rules to prepare any home for sale
Make sure all windows, doors and cabinets don’t stick, squeak or are loose. Check that hardware is in good condition.
If re-painting a room, use neutral tones to brighten space.
Clean carpet, draperies, and furniture.
Replace all burned out bulbs inside and outside.
Clean furnace and water heaters. Replace filters if needed.
Pay attention to any odors in the home. That old adage to entice buyers with the smell of ‘fresh baked pie’ is good advice. Try placing cinnamon or other sweet spice on tin foil and warm in the oven.
Play classical or jazz music on low volume to create a pleasant ambiance.
Remember to use common sense when preparing your home, cleaning and repairing take time and energy but are well worth it.
All things being equal, a clean, well maintained home will always sell faster and for more money.
